Love what you do and where you live

Join us on the stunning Gold Coast—where your work makes a difference, and your weekends feel like a holiday. At QPAH, you’ll find more than a job—you’ll find community, connection, and a career that grows with you.

🌟 About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, dynamic Registered Music Therapist (RMT) to join our growing team on the Gold Coast. This role offers the opportunity to work with children, adolescents, adults, and older people—providing individual and group music therapy services across a range of settings.

Whether you’re working with a non-speaking child developing their communication through high-tech AAC, an adolescent exploring identity through songwriting, or an older adult using music to maintain memory and connection, you’ll be making a real difference.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based music therapy services to clients across the lifespan (paediatric, adolescent, adult, aged care).

  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of 11 speech pathologists, 2 occupational therapists, 4 music therapists and allied health assistants.

  • Conduct assessments, develop therapy plans, and track functional progress aligned with client goals.

  • Provide individual sessions, group programs (e.g., early childhood groups, all-abilities choir, adolescent day program, special school), and community-based services.

  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive team culture that values joy, creativity, and clinical excellence.

  • Maintain high-quality documentation using Splose.

💼 What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Music Therapist – current registration and membership with the Australian Music Therapy Association (AMTA) – experience preferred, however new graduates are welcome to apply

  • Diverse experience or strong interest to develop skills working across paediatrics, disability, mental health and aged care

  • Proficient guitar and singing skills

  • Excellent communication and rapport-building skills

  • Commitment to neurodivergent-affirming and trauma-informed practice

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team

  • Full driver’s licence and access to a car (for community visits)

🎁 Why Join QPAH?

  • 📚 Generous PD allowance + PD leave – so that you can keep learning, stay inspired, and invest in your professional growth without burning out.

🧠 Clinical supervision & mentoring – because feeling supported and having space to reflect matters at every stage of your career.

🌴 Flexible hours – clinic-based and community – so that you can shape your work around your life and find the balance that works for you.

🪜 Career progression framework – because your goals matter, and we want to support your path to leadership, clinical excellence, or both.

🎉 Amazing team culture – so that you genuinely enjoy coming to work, feel appreciated, and can have a laugh with a team that has your back.

🌏 Purpose-driven work – because making a real difference in people’s lives is why you chose this career—and it’s why we exist.
